A sept is a group of people believed to have descended from a common ancestor. Whilst this may not be true of all Rowdens or Rowdons the term is used at this site to distinguish one family group from another. The value has no particular significance apart from simply identifying the various sept groups. More information about each sept is found on the Family Records Page. |
