UK Census - 1891

 

The 1891 census was taken on the night of Sunday 5th April.

This census reveals another significant increase in the number of Rowdens from a decade ago. The previous ten years also saw a spreading out of families particularly in the southern half of England. 954 Rowdens are found which, with another 83 unfound individuals, makes a total of 1031. They are recorded living in 189 different parishes in 34 different counties.

The numbers of found Rowdens in each county are shown in this table.

  • Development and commercial production of electric lighting was underway
